Simba, our beautiful girl

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post.  This morning we had to put our beautiful girl to sleep.  What was thought to be pancreatitis in fact was a very aggressive form of cancer.  This morning she woke up having a hard time breathing so we brought her to the Animal Emergency Clinic and found out that one of her lungs was closed due to fluid and that she had a large mass.  She was so unstable that they would not have been able to exploratory surgery and we couldn't see putting her through tremendous pain to find out that she had a week or two left.  We made the very difficult decision to put her to sleep.  Rest in Peace Simba.  We love you.  This picture is of her from November 9, 2009.

  1. I am so sorry! I know how difficut decision it is to let go of something/one you love. The same thing happened to Moses - remember? I'm sure they are both in heaven soaking in the sun and having their fill of catnip. RIP Simba. - Carolyn

  3. Carolyn, it was funny I read Moses' name and could immediately see him. What a wonderful thought of them both in heaven having catnip and a good time.
