Korean War Veterans Memorial
In my last post I showed the boot I have to wear for my broken foot and unfortunately it is still a part of my wardrobe. However, we had some friends come for a visit last week and our goal was to show them all around our area so I just put on the boot and walked and walked and walked...you get the idea. One of the places we visited while they were here was the Korean War Veterans Memorial which if you ever get to visit D.C. is a must see. We wanted them to see the memorial during the day and also at night so on Monday, their last night in town we went down to D.C. with tripod in hand. I must say I am really happy with these photos as I believe they are my first night photos with my new camera (I still call it new since I got it in December while recovering from foot surgery and since I am still having foot issues I haven't gotten to play with it enough). I will say I took more photos last week then I have taken in the 3 months I've had the camera. Yippee. Let me know what you think.

Voting begins today !
I haven't posted recently as my recovery from foot surgery has taken a lot out of me. I work, go home, elevate my foot, repeat. I hope to be able to do more than that soon but as it bothering me right now I don't have great expectations.
Today voting begins over at My First Kitchen for the cookie and a story contest. If you remember my story was posted on December 7th and can be read here. When you click over to My First Kitchen you will see a link to the voting form. Once you are on the form my name is seventh down and says " Elizabeth: She and her mom settled into cookie baking roles of mixing and oven duty." Please go on over and vote.
Thank you,

foot problems
On Sept 17th 2009 on the second day of my 365 project (which I unfortunately didn't complete) I took some pictures that you can see if you click here. These were the day and night splints that were supposed to help my foot pain. Well here is today's picture:
I had foot surgery at 8:00 this morning to cut part of the plantar muscle that runs along the bottom of my right foot. I will be on crutches for 2 weeks and then hope to be able to walk without discomfort something I haven't been able to do in 2 years. The doctor was very clear about the pros and cons of this surgery but I am hoping and praying that everything heals properly.
