Yesterday we had a storm that ripped through the area knocking down trees and causing power outages as well as the trains and metro to have long delays.
As I sat on the commuter train I took a couple of pictures of down trees. Here are two. Unfortunately there is glare from the train window but I hope you can still see the power of Mother Nature.
Our commuter train ended up being an hour and 15 minutes late in the morning due to a tree down on the tracks and an hour late going home due to a train ahead of us with mechanical problems and storms coming through the area again. Days like that I hate commuting.
Well I am caught up on the photos in my camera and that feels good.
Enjoy your Friday!

Patti and the dinosaur 201/365
As I have written about here we have several friends that we take the commuter train with including a little boy. Today he brought a dinosaur, shark, dog, glow worm, and panda on the train. I couldn't resist putting the dinosaur on our friend Patti's shoulder and was lucky enough to have the camera ready when she looked to see what moved her hair. I love her expression.

Commuting 193/365
I have had a crazy week so I didn't post this week but I have several days worth to post tonight.
I took this picture Thursday the 6th. Unfortunately, I couldn't get above the fence. It seemed appropriate to show the new engine on our commuter train as the night before about 25 minutes into our commute we were informed that an Amtrak train ahead of us hit a pedestrian and we would need to stop and disembark in Rockville and wait for buses that were ordered to bring us to our destination. However, I called a friend who came and got us and drove us home. Kathy, I can't thank you enough as I heard the buses never came as they got stuck in traffic and then the trains got up and running after several hours. Just goes to show you that can't count on a new engine to get you home but you can always count on your friends.
P.S. The man hit by the train survived! Read the story here

The daily commute 190/365
I was sick on Wednesday, my sinus and head were so painful that it made doing anything painful so I never got out of my pajamas all day and didn't take a picture. That is just life sometimes. However, on Thursday I was back to work and the daily commute. This is what I look for when traveling home. It is a very welcome sign.
