Annual Quilt Retreat

For the last 3 days I have been at my annual quilting retreat with 3 of my girlfriends.  I made 2 small wallets, the center of a baby quilt, finished stuffing a pillow and sewed it close and made 4 place mats.  Unfortunately, I had to take 1 of the place mats apart but will get it back together this week so that I can quilt them.  A wonderfully productive weekend with good friends.  Thanks ladies for another great retreat.

Here is the center of the baby quilt.  Please ignore the piece of blue painters tape in the red square of the lower left corner quilt block.  I forgot to remove it before taking the picture.  I need to find a border fabric for this quilt and I will try to post the other items soon.

Back on July 12th I posted this work in progress but I never posted the finished quilt because I never took a picture of it completed....duh!  Our friend Angie took this photo on the night we gave Susie her quilt so I am sharing it with you now. Q is for quilt 179/365

Some of you know that I am a quilter so "Q" was an easy one for me especially since there was an Imagine, Create, and Enjoy meeting today.  This quilt is the Scrappy Star Quilt from the Remembering Adelia book written by Kathleen Tracy.  The meeting was hosted by Needles and Pins, my local quilt shop and this quilt was pieced by the owner Cindy Powell.  They have an on-line shop as a well as a shop in Frederick, MD.  If you are a quilter you should definitely check them out.

baby quilt part 2 131/365

As you saw last night I started a baby quilt that I had to tear out but I decided to tackle it today.  All I have left is trimming it up and adding the binding.  But here it is:

 

Unfortunately the lighting is lousy in my basement but you get the idea.  I cut this project to sew during the Blizzard but I didn't have any basting spray so it didn't get done until today.
