Simba, our beautiful girl

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post.  This morning we had to put our beautiful girl to sleep.  What was thought to be pancreatitis in fact was a very aggressive form of cancer.  This morning she woke up having a hard time breathing so we brought her to the Animal Emergency Clinic and found out that one of her lungs was closed due to fluid and that she had a large mass.  She was so unstable that they would not have been able to exploratory surgery and we couldn't see putting her through tremendous pain to find out that she had a week or two left.  We made the very difficult decision to put her to sleep.  Rest in Peace Simba.  We love you.  This picture is of her from November 9, 2009.

Simba 147/365

Our poor little girl, Simba, has been sick for a little over a month.  The vet thinks she may have pancreatitis and she has lost over 5 lbs.  Thank God she was a big kitty to begin with and she is still okay with her weight.  She just needs to rest, eat and not lose more weight.  I think we are past the throwing up stage.  I took this picture Friday night while I was holding her in one arm and trying to take a picture with my other hand.

I am still sick at home today.  Better than yesterday (but that isn't saying much since yesterday was the dregs).  When you are stuck at home without a lightbox it really limits your possibilities to day light and whatever is around to be photographed.  Well when I got up to get something to drink this is what I saw.......

I had thrown a tablecloth, sweatshirt and other items on the floor to be brought down to the laundry and apparently Simba thought it was the perfect place to take a nap...what a crazy cat.

**edited to add.  Today I am thankful for my two furry cats that bring love and joy into my life.

Pretty girl 51/365

This is one of Simba's favorite place to be, up against the pillow on the couch. She is such a pretty girl. I am still struggling with Photoshop Elements...the living room wall color is not that yellow but I couldn't figure out how to get that change without changing all the other colors.

Someone wants to take a trip 14/365

It was 11 pm and I still hadn't taken my picture of the day or packed for our trip that we are going on tomorrow morning. So I figured I would take a picture of our suitcases in some form so I threw a pair of jeans in the suitcase and went to grab the camera and this is what I saw on my return. Do you think she wants to go on a trip? Maybe but only until we walk out the door and put her in the car and then forget it. I'm not sure if I will be able to upload pictures while I am away but I will definitely be taking them and posting as soon as I can.
